Arteta heaps praise on 'Ox'

Cape Town - Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta says Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is destined for a bright future and has “the world open for what he wants to do”.

The England international has caught the eye with a series of dynamic displays in pre-season, and scored the winner in Sunday’s Community Shield victory over Chelsea.

Arteta has been impressed with Oxlade-Chamberlain’s form, and believes he will be a huge asset this season.

“[The goal was] unbelievable, but Alex can do that every week if he wants to,” Arteta told Arsenal Player.

“He’s a terrific player, one of the best talents I’ve seen, and he’s got the world open for what he wants to do. It’s up to him.”

Sunday’s win was Arsenal’s first over Chelsea in nine attempts, and Arteta says the result will be “really important for the future".

“To come to Wembley again and get another title under the belt, I think it’s magnificent,” he added. “I think you need to have consideration for the opponents as well.

“It made the day a little bit bigger than usual but we’re delighted for the fans, they gave us unbelievable support here, and for the boys as well, because they worked really hard.
