Arsene has a £200m budget - Arsenal director

Cape Town - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could sign any player in the world beside Ronaldo and Messi, according to a club director.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have a transfer warchest of £200 million with a striker on the wanted list.

"We would back him to break the club's transfer record." Arsenal director Lord Harris told the Daily Mail.

"If he wanted the man, he could have him. Apart from Messi and Ronaldo, he could have any player."

Harris also revealed that a centre forward is on the list but refused to indicate who the player was.

The Arsenal director hinted that the player is a superstar from a club that does not need to sell.

"You've got to get the other team to want to sell him, but I think he wants to come. It basically comes down to whether the other team can find a superstar to replace him" said Harris.

In recent weeks, Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid's Karim Benzema, Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and Borussia Dortmund's Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal's current transfer record is the £42.5 million the London club spent on signing Mesut Ozil in 2013 from Real Madrid.
