Arsenal ready to make Barca swoop

Cape Town - Arsene Wenger is keen to add two Barcelona players to his squad in a £30 million January raid on the Spanish club.

The Express report that Arsenal will make a double bid for Dani Alves and Pedro in the January transfer window.

After struggling with numerous injury setbacks as well as failing to replace Thomas Vermaelen in the summer transfer window, Arsenal are ready to tempt Dani Alves into a London move.

Summer recruit Mathieu Debuchy remains sidelined with a long-term injury while Calum Chambers is slowly being moved into a central role, making a right back a priority for the club.

The Gunners are willing to offer Barcelona £6 million for Alves in order to beat out competition for the Brazilian defender, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Pedro is also being lined up by Arsenal with the player being sidelined at Barcelona following Luis Suarez' arrival in Spain.

Wenger is reportedly willing to offer £24 million for his services.

The Spanish winger would bring seven years of first team experience to the Gunners squad and is still just 27-years-old.

Pedro has made 276 appearances for Barcelona as well as 44 appearances for the Spanish national side.
