Cape Town - Arsenal are interested in making a sensational swoop for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, according to reports.

The Express report that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing Sergio Busquets to the London club.

The 27-year-old Spanish international is at the top of the Gunners manager's transfer list, according to Spanish newspaper Sport

A move for Busquets seems highly unlikely but Arsenal remain interested in the player and are willing to meet his wage demands.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has ruled out any departures for the remainder of the current trasnfer unless a player's release clause is met.

Busquets joined the Catalan giants as a youth academy member in 2005 and has played over 200 games for the La Liga champions.
