Argentine defender tweets goodbye

Cape Town - Swansea City are set to sign Argentina international centreback after the player tweeted his goodbyes.

Federico Fernandez is set to finalise his move to Swansea reports the South Wales Evening Post

Fernandez will complete his switch from Napoli for a fee  in the region of £8 million.

"Hopefully everything is agreed now and he is coming over for his medical," said Garry Monk.

"We have to bring in a few more bodies.

"That would be nice because beyond the squad we had at Manchester United, we become very thin.

"With a few injuries we would be in trouble, so it's important we bring two or three quality players in."

Fernandez tweeted his goodbye to Napoli ahead of his move to Wales.

"Ciao Napoli. Yes ciao, because it is not goodbye forever! It cannot be, because it is difficult to stay away from a city like this," Fernandez wrote.

"A city where I found love and happiness straightaway, that gave me so much, which I tried to give back with the best of myself on the field and off.

"A thank you from the heart to this magnificent city, to all its warm inhabitants, thank you to Napoli and its magnificent fans."
