Cape Town - English striker Andy Carroll will miss the remainder of West Ham's pre-season tour after a suffering a fresh injury blow.
Football365 are reporting that Andy Carroll has suffered another injury but he is expected to be fit for the start of the season.
Carroll spent a large portion of last season in the physio's room as he tried to overcome a heel injury.
The management West Ham believe that Carroll's latest injury is not too serious and plan to rest the striker as a precaution.
A statement posted on the club’s official website read: "After assessment by the Club's medical experts, it was decided to let the England international rest for both remaining games and receive intensive treatment to ensure he is fit for the start of the season.
"It should be clear that the affected area is not in any way associated with the previous injury he successfully overcame towards the end of last season."
Carroll only managed 16 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last season and scored just two goals.
West Ham are currently on their pre-season tour of New Zealand and are due to face Sydney FC on Saturday in Wellington.
