Anderson still has United chance

Cape Town - Louis van Gaal will give Manchester United midfielder Anderson a chance to resurrect his career at Old Trafford.

The Manchester Evening News report that Anderson may yet earn himself a contract extension if he can get himself fit.

The 26-year-old midfielder has not featured for Manchester United this season after a series of niggling injuries has hampered his progress.

Van Gaal has suggested that the returning midfielder could play himself to a new contract at the club.

The experienced Dutch coach said: "He’s now coming back,".

"He was injured but he’s training now with the team. I cannot say what had happened last year but in my four months here, he’s had a lot of injuries."

Anderson spent time on loan at c last season after failing to impress David Moyes.

The Brazilian's contract expires at the end of the season.
