Anderson hurt in car crash

Manchester - Manchester United midfielder Anderson was injured in a car crash, according to reports in the Portuguese media on Monday.

The Brazilian, who missed the end of last season and the Soccer World Cup with knee ligament injuries, had to be dragged from a burning Audi A8 on Saturday morning after spending the evening in a nightclub, the Jornal de Noticias reported.

"It was an almighty fright," the player's agents, Gestifute, said. "Anderson will return soon to Manchester."

The 22-year-old was treated in Braga Hospital, along with a man and a woman who were also injured in the crash.

"They had only minor injuries," Roman Fresco, a hospital spokesperson, was quoted as saying. "The girl needed more care, but for little things."
