Ancelotti may sell Benzema

Cape Town - A trio of English Premiership clubs have been put on alert after reports suggested Karim Benzema could be sold.

The Express report that Real Madrid could cash in on French striker Karim Benzema.

The 26-year-old striker has been a long-term target for Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool but is still currently a starter at Los Blancos.

With Financial Fair Play weighing heavily on the boardroom at Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti could sell Benzema should a offer in the region of £40 million be presented.

Benzema currently earns £150,000 a week.

The French striker joined Real Madrid in July 2009 and has scored 124 goals in 255 appearances for the club.
