Ancelotti: Khedira going nowhere

Cape Town - Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out the chance of German World Cup winner Sami Khedira leaving the club.

German international midfielder Sami Khedira will stay with the European champions this season according to the Guardian.

Last week Ancelotti confirmed that Khedira had turned down a contract extension with Los Blancos, which increased the possibility of a transfer to the English Premiership with both Manchester United and Arsenal interested in the player.

Ancelotti has now poured cold water on the sale of the experienced midfielder, for this season at least.

“The issue with Khedira has also been resolved.

"He’s staying and we’re happy that’s the case.” said Ancelotti.

Bayern Munich are now in pole position to land the 27-year-old midfielder's signature, on a free transfer, although any move will only take place at the end of the season. Khedira's contract expires next summer and he will be eligible to leave on a free transfer.
