Alves hints at Milan move

Cape Town - Manchester United are set to lose out to AC Milan over the free transfer of Barcelona star Dani Alves.

Alves, who added a third Champions League winner's medal to his collection on Saturday, is set to quit the Catalan giants at the end of the month.

Several reports linked Manchester United with a strong interest in Alves but the Brazilian's latest quotes seem to hint that the Serie A will be his next destination.

According to talkSPORT, Alves told Sky Italia “it would be a pleasure to sign for AC Milan” before adding "there is a proposal from Italy and I will evaluate all the alternatives before deciding."

Barcelona failed to convince Alves to stay on at the Nou Camp where the 32-year-old right back has won five league titles since arriving from Sevilla in 2008.
