Cape Town - Marseille have all but given hope of keeping Andre Ayew at the club after his contract expires at the end of the season.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Ayew has been offered a deal to join Newcastle United in the summer on a free transfer.

Ayew looks set to depart the Ligue 1 club after the latest comments from their president, Jose Anigo.

“I regret he will leave. He will not extend the contract, so I feel he will go.” said Anigo.

The Ghana star was named in CAF's team of AFCON 2015 after ending up as the top goalscorer in the continental showpiece.

Ayew has scored six goals for Marseille this season in 19 league outings.

Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly keen on signing Ayew.
