Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a sensational move for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

According to, Spurs want to take the unsettled striker on loan in the January transfer window with an eye to a possible permanent deal at the end of the season.

A Tottenham insider told the Sun "There is a real chance we could land Manu in the transfer window - although a lot does depend on who pays his wages.

"City expect us to pay the bulk but the big question is how far our board are prepared to go."

The lanky striker earns £160,000 a week - double what anyone else is on at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor netted 14 goals last year but this season his appearances have been limited and there have been reports of a bust-up with coach Roberto Mancini.

As a Spurs supporter I don't want him. He just gives me that impression that he is a trouble maker and not a team man ....... we have a wonderful team ethic and team spirit at the momment, wouldn't want him to destroy it.

Ditto... He is selfish and Spurs have enough talent up front to do the work. Forget Manu and rather keep Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenco.

No thanks, he's lazy on the pitch and seriously overrated. Watch Spurs before a game, the team huddle where you can see they're all focussed on what Gallas has to say and all nod in agreement. That's the spirit that got Spurs past that French / United Nations side from North London last weekend and past Liverpool on Sunday. Last thing they need is an over-paid prima donna. Daniel Levy has money to spare? Make sure Bale's wage is upped, ditto Modric ! Agree with Homer, keep Pavlyuchenko but Keane is a bit too long in the tooth. Harry, look to the Bundesliga for one or two signings, another centre-back will do nicely and Thomas Muller or Bastiaan Schweinstiger would be most welcome....

He wont join Spurs, he is a money chaser.

He's just hot headed as Christiano Ronaldo and people dnt seem mind that side of Ronaldo, why? Adebayo can help on-form Tottenham to make something of their best race ever, he is a finisher and a creator of goals. In football, Goals are the only Goals.

No NO, please NO. we don't need this over-hyped prat at Spurs.

I concur, city can keep him. I'd take him only he's prepared to take a wage decrease and then earn his way up to guys like Bale, Crouchy and Van der Vaart, otherwise he can stay with Carlos Teves and the like.
