Spurs pen Adebayor deal

London - Emmanuel Adebayor has made his move to Tottenham from Manchester City permanent.

The Togo striker spent most of last season on loan at White Hart Lane, scoring 17 goals in the Premier League, after falling out of favour at City.

Tottenham have spent the off-season negotiating a permanent deal with City to secure the 28-year-old Adebayor and that was confirmed on Tuesday.

He missed the first match of the season at Newcastle on Saturday when Andre Villas-Boas's side lost 2-1.

Adebayor said on Twitter: "I'm back ... I'm hungry for goals."

Spurs are also offloading players, with Sebastien Bassong sold to Norwich on Tuesday, and another defender, Michael Dawson, poised to join Queens Park Rangers.
