Dikgacoi: Radebe inspires me
2010-02-09 14:18
Johannesburg - Kagisho Dikgacoi says he is inspired by what Lucas Radebe has achieved and he would like to follow in the former Bafana Bafana skipper's footsteps.
Radebe is a Leeds United legend and even captained the English side for a number of years before retiring, while Bafana Bafana midfielder Dikgacoi is in his first season in Europe at English Premiership side Fulham.
“Radebe is what you would call a ‘legend’ in the game and someone that inspired a lot of young people to follow in his footsteps, certainly players like myself, Steven Pienaar (Everton), Benni McCarthy (West Ham) and Aaron Mokoena (Portsmouth). He has been an inspiration and a good ambassador for South Africa,” he told fulhamfc.com.
“But I think the current generation of South African footballers are also doing a good job and helping to take the game forward.”
