Defending champs draw Stars

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs will face Platinum Stars in the first round as they go in search of their third straight Telkom Knockout title.

The draw for the annual cup competition, which features all 16 Absa Premiership teams, was held in Johannesburg on Monday.

The tournament begins on October 21 and ends with the final on December 10.

The venues will be announced at a later stage.

Telkom Knockout draw:

Wits v AmaZulu
Platinum Stars v Kaizer Chiefs
Orlando Pirates v Black Leopards
Jomo Cosmos v Bloemfontein Celtic
SuperSport United v Golden Arrows
Moroka Swallows v Mamelodi Sundowns
Santos FC v Maritzburg United
Ajax Cape Town v Free State Stars

Prize-money:

Goalkeeper of the Tournament: R100 000
Defender of the Tournament: R100 000
Midfielder of the Tournament: R100 000
Top-scorer: R150 000 (must score a minimum of five goals)
Hat-trick in the Final: R100 000
Player of the Tournament: R200 000
