Morris axed from Bafana squad

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana has made his final selection for this month's Confederations Cup and a few the of players he has chosen to leave out of the 23-man squad to compete in the tournament has come as a huge shock.
Santana spoke this week about the difficult decision he faced in trimming his squad down by axing six players, but the Brazilian seems to have made life even harder for himself by swinging the axe down on unsuspecting victims.
The first being defender Nasief Morris, who plays in the Spanish La Liga and has been hailed as a revelation in the league this season after competing for 90 minutes in almost every game. Morris was the last overseas-based player to join the Bafana camp.
The other five players axed are Siyabonga Nkosi, Masilo Modubi, Moeneeb Josephs, Thulasizwe Mbuyane and Mzuvukile Tom.
The 23-man Bafana Bafana squad is:
