Johannesburg - Coach Joel Santana and his Bafana Bafana technical crew have welcomed the arrival of Germany-based keeper Rowen Fernandez to their FIFA Confederation Cup training camp on Monday.

Fernandez, whose Bundesliga team Arminia Bielefeld were relegated at the weekend, is the third overseas-based player to touch base after the arrival Belgium-based pair of Elrio van Heerden and Masilo Modubi landed in the country last week.

Bafana are set to take on Mauritius in an international friendly this weekend at a venue still to be announced.

National team manager Sipho Nkumane said that a planned friendly game against a First Division side is unlikely to take place after they failed to secure opposition.

“We are still trying to finalise the venue for the Mauritius game, but I am sure by Tuesday we will release full details of the match. We tried our best to organise a friendly game against a First Division team but the teams that we had earmarked are still heavily involved in the promotion play-offs.”
