Johannesburg - Ivory Coast and Chelsea superstar Didier Drogba, will be one of the guests of honour at the Confederations Cup final between favourites Brazil and the United States at Coca Cola Park on Sunday night (8.30pm).
Drogba on Saturday visited the Jeppe Boys High School where he watched the African Youth Soccer Cup, a tournament that promotes harmony among South African and migrant communities living in South Africa.
Drogba delivered a message of tolerance and togetherness among all Africans following last year's xenophobic attacks on migrant communities in South Africa.
The tournament was organised by the African Diaspora Forum, a non profit organisation representing migrant communities living in South Africa.
Drogba, the Ivory Coast captain, said the foreign media were wrong when they said South Africa could not stage a successful World Cup next June.
Said Drogba: "Believe me. The World Cup in South Africa will be an awesome event."
He said he was impressed by the way Bafana Bafana held Brazil in the Confederation Cup semifinal last Thursday.
He also said it was still early days for Ivory Coast, but he hoped his country would qualify for the world showpiece in South Africa.
