Pretoria - Pretoria residents living near Loftus Versfeld stadium will need accreditation to get to their houses during the Confederation Cup soccer tournament, Beeld newspaper reported on Thursday.
This was one of the regulations the Tshwane metro council communicated to residents in the Hatfield and Clydesdale areas this
week, the Afrikaans daily reported.
The council assured residents that businesses would not have to be closed for the duration of the tournament, an issue which seemed
to have been a cause of concern amongst some companies operating in the area.
But a day before and on the day of a match there will be a "lockdown" within a kilometre radius of the stadium.
Residents will then need to use their accreditation to enter the area. Anyone without accreditation will be stopped and will need to
fill out a form and then be accompanied to his or her destination by a Tshwane metro cop.
Three Confederation Cup matches are scheduled to take place at Loftus on June 15, June 18 and June 21. Accreditation forms are available at
