City stroll to win over County

London - Manchester City scored three times in the closing minutes as England's richest club beat the country's oldest league club Notts County 5-0 in an FA Cup fourth-round replay at Eastlands on Sunday.

Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Micah Richards all scored late goals as Premier League City sealed a fifth-round tie against Aston Villa following two earlier headers from Patrick Vieira.

City, transformed by the money of Abu Dhabi billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour, stayed on course for their first trophy for 35 years with what turned out to be a comfortable win over the League One (third division) side who started the brighter team and were tougher opponents than the scoreline suggested.

Karl Hawley almost put Notts ahead when he crashed an inswinging shot against Joe Hart's left-hand post after 28 minutes, but after that City wrested control.

Vieira, who played in Arsenal's FA Cup winning teams of 1998, 2002 and 2005, headed their first two goals from corners, before Tevez rounded Notts keeper Stuart Nelson after a breakaway in the 84th minute to make it 3-0.

Dzeko headed City's fourth five minutes later before Richards completed the scoring with a thumping hooked shot in the 89th minute.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
