Champs Pirates draw Leopards

Johannesburg - Defending champions Orlando Pirates will take on Black Leopards in the first round of the Telkom Knockout, after the draw took place in Johannesburg on Monday evening.

The cup, which is contested by the 16 Premiership teams, is set to kick-off later this month, but the Premier Soccer League is yet to confirm dates and venues for the fixtures.

Meanwhile, last year's losing finalists, Wits, were pitted against Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

The opening round's other ties see league newcomers Chippa United take on Bloemfontein Celtic in Cape Town, Free State stars were drawn against Golden Arrows in Bethlehem, Ajax Cape Town were drawn at home to SuperSport United, Amazulu square off against Platinum Stars in Durban, Maritzburg United will play Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns host the University of Pretoria.
