Winks: Spurs have earned Real's respect

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks believes they will have earned some respect from Real Madrid after the respectable 1-1 draw in their last UEFA Champions League clash.

Spurs are preparing to host title holders at Wembley on Wednesday, and although Winks admits it will be a difficult game he also thinks Los Blancos will be wary of them.

"It's going to be a tough game, we know that," he was quoted as saying by ESPN.

"They're one of the best teams in the world so we're going to respect them - and I guess they're going to respect us as well because we played well away at the Bernabeu.

"It's a game we're looking forward to, to try and bounce back (from Saturday's defeat against Manchester United) and get a good result.

"We got a good result against them a couple of weeks ago so hopefully we can get another one now and finish off the Champions League group in a strong way. We're doing well in the Champions League so we're confident going into the game."

Mauricio Pochettino's side are tied with Real at the top of Group H with seven points each and a positive goal difference of five. Borussia Dortmund have fallen six points behind the joint-leaders.

Kick off is at 21:45.
