Marlos brace leads Shakhtar to victory over Feyenoord

Ukraine - Shakhtar Donetsk stayed on track to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage by beating Feyenoord 3-1 in Kharkiv on Wednesday evening, consigning the Rotterdam club to its fourth consecutive defeat in the competition this season.

The result left Shakhtar with nine points, three behind Group F leaders Manchester City, who continued their rich scoring form with a 4-2 win at Napoli.

As it did when they lost 2-1 to Shakhtar two weeks ago in Rotterdam, Feyenoord took an early lead but soon squandered it as the game progressed.

Nicolai Jorgensen opened the scoring when he headed in Steven Berghuis's cross in the 12th minutem, however, Shakhtar equalized inside two minutes when Facundo Ferreyra saw his first shot blocked by Renato Tapia, but scored on the rebound.

Marlos gave Shakhtar the lead in the 17th and made it 3-1 with his second goal midway through the second-half, cleverly dragging the ball past Tapia before chipping it over Brad Jones in the Feyenoord goal.
