Kane left beaming after first CL hat-trick

Cape Town - Harry Kane says the hat-trick he scored in Tottenham's 3-0 Champions League win over APOEL is his most cherished.

The Spurs striker has now scored nine hat-tricks for his club, with his most recent, in Cyprus on Tuesday, his first ‘perfect’ hat-trick, with Kane having scored with his left foot, right foot and his head.

Speaking after the game, with the match ball wedged firmly under his arm, the proud England striker revealed his delight.

He said: "This is one I'm very proud of.

"It's my first hat-trick in the Champions League and for it to be my first perfect hat-trick of my career as well, I'm delighted."

He added: "We all delighted with the three points as well.

“It was a tough night and a great 3-0 win.

"APOEL came out strong but we were clinical in the vital areas.

“The win puts us in a great spot but it's by no means over.

"We've tough games coming up. Real Madrid are next and we have to go there with the same confidence and try to get a result.”

Meanwhile Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise after the game for Kane's match-winning display.

"The hat-trick for Harry was a fantastic performance. Today was a difficult night so it was important to win."
