Evra: Pogba has high standards

Cape Town - Patrice Evra admits Paul Pogba has incredible ability that is needed in the Champions league but his high standards sometimes get the better of him.

Juventus are currently on course to win their fifth consecutive Scudetto this season as they sit on the top of the Serie A standings with a 23-match unbeaten run.

However, they face a tough task this week - traveling to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions league last-16 round on Wednesday evening.

Evra believes that Pogba can be the decisive factor for the Bianconeri this week, after their 2-2 draw in Turin, if he's able to remain composed and accept that it's normal to make mistakes while performing at such a high level.

"Pogba's problem is that he has too much quality. When he makes mistakes he gets frustrated, because everyone thinks that a player like that can't make certain errors," the 34-year old told Football Italia.

"I always repeat to him that he has to stay calm, work hard and listen to Allegri. He must play like he knows. Sure, losing the ball is annoying, but it happens because he's someone who always goes for it and does not hold himself back.

"Against Bayern, for instance, he always asked for the ball in the most difficult moments. We need people like that, but when they make a mistake that's all everyone talks about.

"Let him work in peace, because Paul wants to run, score and make assists for us. I'm perfectly content with that."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
