Cape Town - Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes the club is ready to conquer the continent next season, after winning their fifth successive Serie A title on Monday.
Buffon is yet to lift the Champions League trophy in his career, despite reaching two finals, against AC Milan in 2003 and Barcelona in 2015.
"The next step must be the Champions League," he said. "When you reach the final and then manage to play matches on par with Bayern Munich, the signs tell you that you can do it."
Juve overcame a slow start to the league campaign, which saw them lose two of their three opening games.
"We've overcome a million adversities to get to this position," Buffon added.
"The difficulties we faced at the start of the campaign served us well and helped to fuel us on to the great fightback we've staged over recent months.
"We've kept reaching ever higher milestones at this club over the years to earn the rightful respect from the rest of European football. We'll keep working hard to make the next steps forward."
