Surgery rules Drogba out

Genk - Chelsea will be without Didier Drogba for Tuesday's Champions League match against Genk because of arm surgery.

The Ivory Coast striker Drogba did not travel with the squad to Belgium for the Group E match.

Coach Andre Villas-Boas says Drogba is having screws removed in a follow-up procedure to a broken arm he sustained in the buildup to last year's World Cup.

Drogba has scored once in seven Premier League appearances this season and is yet to feature in the Champions League. He was sent off for a bad tackle in the October 23 defeat at Queens Park Rangers and appeared to argue with team-mate John Obi Mikel as he left the field.
