London - Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney allayed concerns about his fitness by taking part in training on Tuesday ahead of his side's Champions League quarter-final second leg at Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old missed United's 4-0 win at Newcastle United on Saturday due to a toe injury, sparking fears that he could be forced to sit out Wednesday's return leg at Munich's Allianz Arena.
However, he took part in a light workout at United's Carrington training centre on Tuesday morning prior to the squad's departure for Germany.
Ashley Young, who damaged ligaments in his hand against Newcastle, is doubtful for the game at Bayern, while Robin van Persie remains sidelined with a sprained knee and Juan Mata is cup-tied.
United and defending champions Bayern drew 1-1 in the first leg at Old Trafford last week.
