Cape Town - Lionel Messi believes the addition of Luis Suarez could be enough to help Barcelona win the Champions League title this season.
The Uruguay international joined Barca for a fee of £75 million from Liverpool in the off-season, but is still serving his four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.
And Messi is confident that with the striker returning late in October, that the Blaugrana will have a squad capable of going all the way in Europe's elite club competition.
"We are excited, eager, because we already have a squad full of very good players," the Argentina international said in an interview with Adidas.
"Luis Suarez’s arrival will further strengthen our forward line and hopefully that can help us win the Champions League."
However, the four-time World Player of the Year is under no illusions of how difficult it will be with the calibre of opposition also eyeing Champions League glory.
"We know it’s going to be hard and there will be some difficult times, but I think we can go far," he added.
"The teams [in the competition] are the best, the biggest in the world. That’s why it is so important."
