Mbalula jets off to Champions League final

Cape Town - Fikile Mbalula has confirmed that he will attend the Champions League final in Berlin on Saturday.

The South African Sports and Recreation minister will be among the dozens of high-profile personalities present at the Olympiastadion.

Currently in London to attend the launch of South Africa's bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Mbalula will travel to Germany to attend Europe's biggest club football match between Barcelona and Juventus.

Kick-off is at 20:45 SA time.

Mbalula confirmed he will attend the match on Twitter:

Mbalula is clearly a big fan of sporting events after recently travelling to Las Vegas for the megafight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

The Sports Minister's trip to Las Vegas was clouded in controversy after questions arose who funded the trip to watch the "Fight of the Century".
