Munich - Injury-hit Bayern Munich needed two own goals to beat CFR Cluj 3-2 on Tuesday and top Champions League Group E with maximum points.

The win offered some respite as Bayern, who were missing half a dozen starting players including strikers Miroslav Klose and Ivica Olic and are struggling in the Bundesliga, head the group with three wins out of three games.

Cluj took a 27th minute lead when defender Cadu headed in a deep cross at the far post but the Portuguese defender then scored an own goal, deflecting a Toni Kroos shot into the net five minutes later.

Fellow defender Cristian Panin then chested in a Bayern corner kick in the 37th minute for the second own goal of the evening before Bayern striker Mario Gomez tucked in Bayern's third goal 13 minutes from time. Culio pulled one back with four minutes left but Bayern held on for victory.
