Inter Milan down CSKA Moscow

Moscow - Former winners Inter Milan on Tuesday won their Group C Champions League match at CSKA Moscow 3-2.

The Serie A side, who lost their opening game in the competition at home against Trabzonspor, had the better start and were leading 2-0 after just 23 minutes.

Brazilian defender Lucio gave them an early lead in the sixth minute before Italian international Giampaolo Pazzini added a second midway through the first half.

Alan Dzagoev pulled one back for the home side with the last kick of the first half with a well-taken free-kick.

A disappointing crowd of 25 000 saw the home side come out of the change-rooms eager to grab another goal and they were rewarded for their efforts in the 77th minute when Brazilian striker Vagner Love beat compatriot Julio Cesar with a low shot into the right hand corner.

Inter, however, were up again just two minutes later when substitute Mauro Zarate scored his first official goal for Inter.

In the last ten minutes, CSKA tried to come back into the game, but were simply not strong enough to find their way through a compact Inter defence.

A further seven Champions League matches will be played later on Tuesday.
