Gerrard fit for Real test

Liverpool - Captain Steven Gerrard was named in Liverpool's squad for their Champions League trip to Real Madrid after missing almost three weeks with a hamstring injury.

The inspirational midfielder tore a hamstring in his left leg in his side's FA Cup fourth-round defeat by city rivals Everton on February 4 and had been a doubt for Wednesday's last-16 first-leg encounter with the Spanish champions.

"Steven will be in the squad. He was okay in training this morning," Benitez said on Monday.

"It was a special training session so we were not testing him one hundred percent, but he trained okay so we will see."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
