Fabregas fears broken leg

London - Cesc Fabregas will have tests on Thursday to determine the extent of a leg injury that he believes could keep him out of the Soccer World Cup.

Fabregas suffered the injury in winning the penalty that he converted to salvage a 2-2 draw for Arsenal against Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

He had been a doubt before the game with severe bruising and a strained tendon in his knee, and seemed to have aggravated the injury in taking the penalty.

But he later revealed he fear a new problem, caused by the way his leg became tangled with those of Carles Puyol.

"I am not good," he said Fabregas. "We have to wait, but I hope I can wear the Arsenal shirt again this season.

"I fear the worst, which is that I have broken something.

"I do not think it is going to be good news, but still I hope there will be.

"When I took the penalty, I was quite strong, but after when I went to get the ball, I could not walk any more.

"It is the fibula. I think I put my leg between Puyol's when I was fouled, and kicked it."
