Hoops boss Neil Lennon is keen to see 'Killer' in action after he joined the club for training on Monday. He has a number of players on trial including Croatian goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa and St Etienne's Ivorian striker Boubacar Sanogo.
Lennon told the Evening Times: "We don't know if he can play against Wolves. We will have to look to see if we can get some kind of dispensation.
"If we can, it will be a big bonus for us. But I'd imagine we'd have to get permission from his club, and that is a very difficult thing to do."
Meanwhile, former Mpumalanga Black Aces assistant manager Dylan Kerr, who played for a number of Scottish sides, reckons Killer will be a success in the SPL.
He told the Daily Record: "Mphela has been the most prolific striker at club level and for the South Africa national side in the last three years.
"Sundowns don't want to sell him but the player went AWOL and refused to play in January in protest because he was so desperate to move on.
"He plays off the shoulder of defenders in a style that's most reminiscent of Henrik Larsson. He's not the quickest but if you give him a yard he's deadly, hence that nickname.
"He can hold the ball up and has a great strike on him. He's clever in the way he hangs off defenders and occupies space that makes him difficult to pin down.
"Celtic like to get players wide and get the ball in behind defences and that's meat and drink to him.
"If he signs for Celtic he'll be up there at the end of the season as one of the top scorers in the SPL with between 25-30 goals."
