Carling Cup tickets sold out

Johannesburg - The third annual Carling Black Label Cup featuring Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates proved to be an extremely popular event on the South African football calendar. Tickets are officially sold out - three weeks ahead of the much anticipated showpiece taking place at FNB stadium on 27 July 2013.

According to the supersport.com website, the overwhelming reaction by South African football fans, in the two successive years, has been testament to the success of the concept of champion coaches being given the opportunity of pro-actively selecting the starting XI for the derby.

“We are gratified by the support that football fans continue to show for the Carling Black Label Cup, which has allowed us to reach this key milestone,” said a delighted Vijay Govindsamy, General Manager Carling Black Label.

Although tickets are sold out, adult consumers still have an opportunity to influence the outcome of the day by selecting the starting line-up for both teams.

They can do this by using the unique code found on a Carling Black Label beer and dialling *120*764* on their cellphones.

Fans must enter their unique code found on the underside of the bottle cap and the # sign (with no spaces in between), and can then choose the team they would like to manage, and the players they would like to see start. The voting is free of charge to the public and will be closed on midnight, July 23.

Those supporters who cast their votes can win great prizes, including a share of R3-million worth of airtime, match tickets to the showpiece event on July 27 and, best of all, a coach’s experience with either Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs on match day.

That prize offers a unique opportunity only available through the Carling Black Label Cup, allowing two lucky fans to experience their team in training, sit in the pre-match briefing and be part of the dug-out with their favourite team. This is a once in a life-time experience for adult consumers.

All supporters who cast their vote for the players they would like to see compete in the 2013 Carling Black Label Cup will be automatically entered into this competition.
