CAF confirm AFCON seeds

Johannesburg - The Confederation of African Football have revealed the seeded and unseeded countries ahead of final qualifying round draw for 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The continental showpiece will take place in South Africa next year, with holders Zambia amongst the top seeded teams, while Bafana Bafana earned their qualification courtesy of their status as hosts.

Seeded teams:

Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Tunisia, Zambia.

Unseeded teams:

Botswana, Cape Verde Islands, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Uganda, Zimbabwe.

Notes:

- Winners of 15 home-and-away second round ties over weekends of September 7-9 and October 12-14 qualify for 2013 finals between Jan 19-Feb 10 with hosts South Africa.

- Separate draw will decide which countries play at home first.

- Seeding based on results from previous three Cup of Nations tournaments.
