Doha - David Beckham is still not a PSG player, newly-appointed coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Tuesday.

Ancelotti was named the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain on a two-and-a-half year deal on Friday, but former England captain Beckham has still not committed to the big-spending Qatar-backed French club.

"It's the club that is discussing this with the player's agent, but no decision has been taken," said Ancelotti, who briefly coached Beckham during a loan spell at AC Milan.

Beckham, whose contract with Los Angeles Galaxy finished on December 31, "is a committed and professional player, that's all I can say", Ancelotti added.

PSG, who play AC Milan in a friendly in Dubai on Wednesday, earlier trained under the watchful eye of new owner, Qatar's Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, and club president Nasser al-Khelaifi.
