Johannesburg - Banyana Banyana were adding the final touches to their preparations, with 100 days to go before their Olympic debut in London in July, their technical advisor, Shakes Mashaba, said on Wednesday.
"Now that we've reached the 100-day mark, this means we are just over three months away from the Olympics ," Mashaba said.
"It is critical to ensure that the team is adequately prepared to face the competition ahead.
"The competition is right at our doorstep, so it is essential that the team now focuses on strengthening their tactical awareness and working on their finishing as well.
"The team has progressed a lot with the start of the training camps we've held since January.
"We just need to add the finishing touches to the team's final preparations for the Olympics."
Sanah Mollo, who plays for Bloemfontein Celtic, said every player wanted to impress the selectors as they went in search of a place in the final squad, with the country set to compete in the women's football event for the first time at the London Games.
"With the Olympics around the corner, we are all under pressure as players to give our best in order to catch the eye of the coaches and see ourselves in London later this year," Mollo said.
