Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba believes he has a team to stop Senegal in their next 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier fixture.
South Africa were minutes away from securing a vital away victory against Burkina Faso on Saturday as Dean Furman stuck a long range effort in the 80 minute.
However, substitute Banou Diawarra to got the home crowd to their feet in the stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw in Ouagadougou.
Senegal left no room for error in their quest for a place at the Russia showpiece with a 2-0 victory over Cape Verde in Dakar.
"I think we have a team to stop Senegal,” Mashaba said as quoted by SowetoLIVE.
“If you look at the players who played today [on Saturday], their commitment was very high.
“We are lenient when we play at home; not so aggressive.
“Maybe there's something we need to look at and find out why we aren't doing so well at home because that's where we should be winning games.”
The Group D match is scheduled for November 7 as the Lions of Teranga travel to South Africa for the all important fixture. The match venue is still to be announced.
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana welcome African giants, Ghana, to the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 20:00.
