SAFA pens five-year deal with SAA

Cape Town - The South African Football Association have announced a five-year sponsorship deal with the South African Airways.

Bafana Bafana will be the only national outfit being sponsored by the airline as well as no clubs will receive any deals with SAA.

According to KickOff, SAFA president Danny Jordaan was not present at the press conference as SAA chairperson Dudu Myeni announced the deal.

“This isn't the first time we've sponsored a sporting code,” the SAA chairperson said.

“The timing is opportune for us, we've just come off another sponsorship with SARU. Our contract with SARU ended in December 2015 and management began looking for a new deal.

“We don't sponsor in cash, it is value-in-kind. It's a five-year deal with Bafana Bafana only for now.”

SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble added: “This is a partnership between two assets. We didn't want to go anywhere else. We wanted this opportunity.”
