Prince dreaming of Bafana call-up

Cape Town - Prince Nxumalo admits he's hopeful his goal-scoring exploits will be rewarded with a national team call-up for this month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cameroon.

Nxumalo, who currently sits second in the Premiership scoring charts on 11 goals, one behind Collins Mbesuma, was called up by Shakes Mashaba for their South American tour in December - but after a recurring incident of his epilepsy, he was forced to withdraw and miss out on his first Bafana Bafana cap.

The former FC Cape Town striker recalls how hard it was for him during that period but he's paid homage to the Urban Warriors and the clubs medical team for helping him get back to his best goal-scoring form.

"I had a tough time [last year], but the people close to me helped me and, in the end, it didn't affect me mentally," the 25-year old told the Times Live.

"I'm fine now and things are going well. The doctors check on me and the club has given me a lot of support.

"It is my wish to be called up and I'm not saying I'm sure I will be there. All I'm saying is I will be very happy if it happens."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
