Plaudits continue to roll in for Bafana's Percy Tau

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau has been recognised by CAF for his man of the match display in the 3-1 victory over Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Tau opened the scoring in the opening 50 seconds of the crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier before grabbing a sublime back-heel assist for Sibuiso Vilakazi's goal and the third for the South Africa national team on the day.

His tireless running in the false nine role has seen him earn plaudits within the South African Premiership, FIFA during the Club World Cup and now CAF for the best XI for match-day five.

Tau, who has scored three goals and registered as many assists in seven games for club and country this season - is joined in the attack by English Premier League stars Victor Moses of Nigeria and Mohamed Salah of Egypt.

CAF best XI of week five:

Khalid Boutaib (Morocco)

Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

Mbark Boussoufa (Morocco)

Youssef Msakni (Tunisia)

Percy Tau (South Africa)

Victor Moses (Nigeria)

Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

Ahmed Hegazy (Egypt)

Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)

Abdullahi Shehu (Nigeria)
