Mokotjo: Shakes has a problem with me

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo believes that Shakes Mashaba “clearly has a problem” with him and deems it to be personal.

According to KickOff, the 25-year-old has not quite seen eye-to-eye with the national team coach.

The former SuperSport United midfielder warmed the bench yet again for Bafana Bafana as they suffered two consecutive draws against Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mokotjo has made a name for himself in Netherlands having played for Feyenoord, Excelsior and PEC Zwolle.

"He clearly has a problem with me," said the FC Twente midfielder.

"It's really a personal thing. He selected me just to silence the critics. Everyone wants me to play.

"I am one of the highest-rated players in South Africa but he continues to treat me [like this].

"And then he also has a big mouth in the media. Am I still available for the national team? I'll have to think about it..."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
