Manyama: We need the fans more than ever

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana forward Lebohang Manyama believes this is the best time that fans should show their support for the national team.

South Africa take on Burkina Faso in a 2018 Soccer World Cup qualifier at FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 7.

Manyama, along with Azerbaijan-based striker, Dino Ndlovu, were the last players to report for national team duty.

The Turkey-based player says with the backing of the fans, the players can turn things around for the national team.

"We need all of those and we need the whole country," said Manyama as quoted by the official SAFA website.

"We know what has happened in the last two games and people have lost confidence in us but we must take the lead to bring back the confidence and everybody else will follow.

"We need their support. We have the quality, we have the coach and I believe we have the country that can take us where we want to go, starting on Saturday - like I always say, All for one and one for all.

"We need the whole nation, if we can have a packed stadium, whenever you touch the ball it builds confidence, and in a way everything goes right when you have fans behind you.

"I think we are going to need them more than ever, so come show your love for Bafana Bafana."

With three matches remaining in the qualifiers, Bafana Bafana are bottom of Group D with just one point.

Kick off is at 15:00.
