Cape Town - Bafana Bafana midfielder Tiyani Mabunda says he was willing to put his body on the line in the 2-1 win over Senegal on Saturday.
Mabunda played a crucial role in the midfield battle after receiving a late call-up to replace Dean Furman.
The Mamelodi Sundowns hard-man was left battered and bruised after suffering a head injury in the match.
After the win at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Bafana have four points in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
"It wasn't easy in this game, as you can see I got a knock but it is nothing compared to what we have done for the nation," Mabunda told KickOff.
"If this is what it takes for us to make the nation proud then I'm willing to go for it, I'm just grateful to the crowd who came out in their numbers to cheer us on.
"It wasn't easy, at times we were getting tired but their singing and shouting really gave us a push. I'm glad that we got them the points that was required, and hopefully the nation is proud."
Bafana Bafana are set to play Mozambique in an international friendly on Tuesday, November 15.
Kick off is at 19:00 (SA time).
