Mabunda joins Bafana camp

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana head coach Shakes Mashaba has called up Mamelodi Sundowns defensive midfielder Tiyani Mabunda as a replacement for the injured Dean Furman.

Mabunda's call-up to the national team marks an incredible turnaround after he failed to make a single start for Pitso Mosimane side last season.

However, following a few injuries, the 28-year-old staked his claim for a place in Mosimane's starting XI with some inspiring performances during their CAF Champions League triumph.

Furman joins Tebogo Langerman, who has pulled out of the squad to face Senegal in their crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

The other two players who will face late fitness tests for the Group D tie are midfielders Andile Jali and Daine Klate.
