Cape Town - In-form Bidvest Wits midfielder Daine Klate has revealed his delight after he was rewarded for his recent domestic exploits with a national team call-up for the crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Senegal next month.
The clash is scheduled to take place on November 12 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Despite being the most decorated player in the PSL, the 31-year-old winger has not been a regular player for Bafana Bafana considering having registered just 12 caps.
The Port Elizabeth-born left-footer is confident that his experience will play a crucial role in Shakes Mashaba’s team and he has insisted that they will be looking to get maximum points against the Lions of Taranga.
"I’m very happy to be called up and be part of the national team again, to me it is an honour," said Klate
"But at the end of the day it is not about me but the whole team because we have to do it together.
"I hope to do well for Bafana if I get a chance to play; I want to help them get all three points against Senegal.
"A win will put us in a good position and we could go all the way."
Heading to this clash, Bafana are coming from a 1-1 stalemate against Burkina Faso away from home earlier in the month while Senegal defeated Cape Verde 2-0 at home to go top of Group D.
