Furman reflects on group qualification

Cape Town – Dean Furman expressed his relief as Bafana Bafana qualified for the group qualifying stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

According to Soccer Laduma, the South African midfielder admits that winning at home was important despite being in a comfortable position from their first-leg victory.

Bafana Bafana trounced Angola 3-1 before returning home and winning 1-0 (4-1 on aggregate) at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

"A two-leg game is always difficult," says Furman.

"We knew at half time the job wasn’t done. We had put a terrific performance away in Angola.

"For us tonight it was important to show the fans that we could win at home and we have gone and done that in front of a great Durban crowd.

"We are delighted with the victory."
